And the Dance Continues

Offers made, offers refused, moving on. We’re still looking for a house. Tomorrow we’ll be looking at a couple more in the area, and who knows. God has something in store for us. I’m just not sure what that is yet (nor am I usually).

Big decisions like this really test your trust in God. There are some things that you just can’t control, but it’s great to know that God sees it all (fortunately for us). I was listening to Life Church’s podcast from last Sunday, and it was all about “Control.” It made me realize (once again) just how much we as humans think we have to control everything. It’s sickening. And I’m one of the worst ones! We want to control others. We want to control circumstances. We want to control everything. It’s refreshing to know that we don’t have to.

I’ve been learning how much more freeing it is when we just let God control things and stop thinking that we can take care of it all. But I’ve still got a long way to go!

Down to One

Well, we looked at 7 or 8 of the houses left on Wednesday, and now we’re down to one. We’re going to look at it again soon (maybe this weekend), and if all goes well with a more thorough walk-through, then we’ll probably make an offer soon! How crazy is that!?

Thanks to so many of you who have been praying for us. Marie and I could use even more prayer here in the next week or so as we make our final decisions about this transition in our lives.

VBS

Well, VBS begins tonight at church. We’re very fortunate to have two of my good friends to come and play with us in the band this week. They saved us bigtime!

At the same time, we’re still busy looking for a house. We’re taking the day on Wednesday to go look at as many of the 13 that are still on our list as we can. We drove by about 20 houses last week, and we have it narrowed down to these 13 so far. Some of them will just be a quick look, but there are several that we’re really interested in.

Anyway, we could really use your continued prayers that we’ll make the right decision on this. Thanks!

Diving In

Well, it’s finally time. Marie and I are looking for a house (which is one of the reasons I haven’t been posting as often). It’s exciting, and at the same time, completely overwhelming.

Another reason for the lack of posts is that we’ve had a little setback with the church website. Our host was purchased by another company, and we were migrated to a new platform. Well, there have been some issues with the migration, and I basically had to reinstall and reconfigure everything. What fun! Unfortunately, this may bump back our scheduled release date of July 1. I hate to push it back, but we may just not be able to finish it in time. Ahh!!!

We’d appreciate all of your prayers about this (the house and the website)!

I’m back!

Well, it’s back to the “real world” today. Vacation is over, and life goes on as usual. We had a great time getting away from everything for a few days.

This past weekend was our first APEX service at ACC, and I thought it went well for it being the first attempt at something like this at our church. I have high hopes for this new ministry in the coming months.

On Sunday, Marie and I had the priviledge of leading worship for our good friends at Harvest Pointe Christian Church, where my brother used to minister. It was great to see so many familiar faces and to catch up with friends.

More later!
