ID: The True You

I started reading a new book a few days ago called ID: The True You by Mark Batterson. Great guy. Great book. I’ve been reading a lot on Mark’s blog about what they’re doing at his church (National Community Church in Washington, DC) and also the Buzz Conference that they just put on a couple weekends ago - which I REALLY wanted to go to.

The things that they’re doing (and a lot of other churches like Fellowship Church and Life Church) have really been inspiring me and pushing me to be more creative lately. It’s cool because a lot of things that they’re doing aren’t just restricted to big mega-churches. The technology is available now so that even small churches like ours can make huge strides and get a massive return on our investment.

I think the big hangup right now is just getting the right people in the right places at the right times to make things happen the way that they can. I’m already seeing God using things in our area, and it’s really exciting to be a part of some of it. I’m convinced that God is going to do some big things in the not too distant future, and I’m excited to see what they are!

(oh yeah, and I’ll write more about the book later)
